Violette places a natural Amethyst at the centre of Andrew Geoghegan's fluted Cannelé setting. Its purple colour can feel quiet or intense depending on the halo selected.

Choose Tsavorite for a vivid green contrast, pale Amethyst for a tonal display, or G/VS Diamonds for a clear, bright white frame. Beneath the stones, the setting carries the precise hand-finished fluting that defines Cannelé.

Cannelé Couleur uses colour as part of the architecture of the ring, not as decoration added afterwards. A natural centre stone is framed by a deliberately chosen gemstone or diamond halo, while the fluted gallery gives the design a sculptural identity from the side as well as from above.
Why are the centre stone and halo colours deliberately contrasted? +
Each pairing is chosen for balance, contrast and the way the colours alter one another. Some combinations create a close tonal harmony, while others give the centre stone a sharper edge. The intention is a composed palette rather than a random mixture of coloured gemstones.
How is the fluted Cannelé setting crafted? +
The Cannelé setting is made, hand-engraved and hand-finished in the UK, with the gemstones set under a microscope. The flutings are expertly refined and converge at one fine point directly beneath the centre stone. The side profile is therefore part of the craftsmanship, not simply decoration visible from above.

What character does amethyst bring to Cannelé Couleur? +
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and measures 7 on the Mohs hardness scale. It is suitable for regular wear with care, but it is softer than Sapphire, Ruby and Diamond and should be protected from hard knocks and abrasive contact. Its colour can range from pale lilac to deeper reddish purple. Vivid green Tsavorite creates the strongest contrast with the purple centre. Cannelé Couleur is made to order and normally takes approximately four to six weeks. The ring is hand-finished and hand-set in the UK, and the exact timing can depend on gemstone availability. If you are working towards a particular date, please contact us before ordering.
Can a Cannelé Couleur ring be resized? +
Resizing is usually possible, although the suitable adjustment depends on the original finger size and the amount of change required.
