About Cannelé Couleur

The Cannelé setting was the brand’s first halo design, but it was never simply about making the centre stone appear larger, as many halo designs do. The fine halo provides the perfect frame, while the difference in scale between halo and centre creates contrast. Yet it is the fluting that flows from the halo edge that has made Cannelé the iconic ring it has become. With Cannelé Couleur, that original architecture remains unchanged, but colour shifts the conversation.

Each composition begins with the character of its centre stone. A diamond halo brings crisp light. A tonal halo draws out depth. Selected contrasting pairings give the ring a more unexpected energy. The choices are edited rather than endless, so every version remains unmistakably Cannelé.

Can I choose any contrasting halo with any centre stone?

No. The contrasting halo pairings are composed by Andrew Geoghegan and are offered only where the colour relationship and setting work properly together. If you would like to explore an alternative halo or centre stone, please enquire and Andrew can advise directly.

Which centre stones are available in Cannelé Couleur?

The eight centre stones are Amethyst, Spessartite Garnet, Rich Blue Sapphire, Medium Blue Sapphire, Tsavorite, Rubellite, Pink Sapphire and Chocolate Coloured Diamond. Each has its own selection of halo and metal combinations.

What is the difference between a tonal, contrasting and diamond halo?

A tonal halo stays within the centre stone’s colour family. A contrasting halo places a deliberately different colour around the centre, using a pairing composed by Andrew. A diamond halo gives the coloured centre a clear, bright white frame.

Which metals and centre sizes are available?

Cannelé Couleur is made to order with a 4.5mm or 5mm centre stone. It is available as standard in platinum, 18ct yellow gold or 18ct rose gold. 18ct white gold is available on request.

How long does a Cannelé Couleur ring take to make?

Each Cannelé Couleur ring is made to order, with its centre stone and halo stones cut specifically for the ring. Please allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks for completion. If you are among the first eight customers to order, please allow 6 to 8 weeks, as Andrew will also create a hand-painted A5 artwork of your ring to accompany it, with our compliments. If you are working to a particular date, please enquire before ordering.

How do I choose a Cannelé Couleur halo?

Every Cannelé Couleur edition is available with a diamond halo and a tonal halo. Most also offer a contrasting halo composed by Andrew for that particular centre stone. Each product page shows the combinations available, and personal advice is available by enquiry if you would like help choosing.
