Grenadine brings the saturated red-pink colour of a natural Rubellite to the centre of the Cannelé setting.

Choose Tsavorite for a vivid green contrast, Pink Sapphire for a warmer transition of colour, or G/VS Diamonds for a clear, bright white frame. Beneath the stones, the setting carries the precise hand-finished fluting that defines Cannelé.

What makes Cannelé Couleur different from a traditional halo ring? +
Cannelé Couleur uses colour as part of the architecture of the ring, not as decoration added afterwards. A natural centre stone is framed by a deliberately chosen gemstone or diamond halo, while the fluted gallery gives the design a sculptural identity from the side as well as from above.
Why are the centre stone and halo colours deliberately contrasted? +
Each pairing is chosen for balance, contrast and the way the colours alter one another. Some combinations create a close tonal harmony, while others give the centre stone a sharper edge. The intention is a composed palette rather than a random mixture of coloured gemstones.
How is the fluted Cannelé setting crafted? +
The Cannelé setting is made, hand-engraved and hand-finished in the UK, with the gemstones set under a microscope. The flutings are expertly refined and converge at one fine point directly beneath the centre stone. The side profile is therefore part of the craftsmanship, not simply decoration visible from above.
How do the 4.5mm and 5mm centre stones change the design? +
The 4.5mm centre gives the ring a tighter, more restrained balance. The 5mm centre has greater visual presence and allows the colour of the central gemstone to lead more strongly. Both sizes retain the same Cannelé character, so the choice is about proportion rather than a different design.

Natural gemstones can vary in hue, tone and saturation, whether untreated or heat-treated. Heat treatment is a long-established way of improving colour or clarity, but the gemstone remains naturally formed rather than laboratory-grown. We select each centre stone and halo to preserve the intended colour relationship, so the finished ring will follow the palette shown while retaining the individual character of natural material.
Who does Cannelé Couleur suit? +
Cannelé Couleur suits someone drawn to colour, detail and independent design rather than a purely conventional engagement ring. Its silhouette is recognisable as a halo ring, but the fluting and considered gemstone combinations give it a more artistic character. It can feel expressive without becoming oversized or theatrical.
What character does rubellite bring to Cannelé Couleur? +
Rubellite is the name given to strongly saturated red-to-pink Tourmaline. Tourmaline measures approximately 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale and can be worn regularly with care. It should nevertheless be protected from hard knocks and sudden changes in temperature. Tsavorite creates the strongest contrast with the red-pink centre, Pink Sapphire makes a warmer transition of colour, and bright white G/VS Diamonds give the Rubellite a clean and luminous frame.

Can I request a different Cannelé Couleur stone combination? +
Yes. The listed combinations are the standard curated options, but a different centre stone, halo or colour pairing can be discussed as a bespoke variation. Availability, price and production time may change, because natural gemstones must be matched for size, quality and colour before the ring is made.
How long does Cannelé Couleur take to make? +
Each Cannelé Couleur ring is made to order, with its centre stone and halo stones cut specifically for the ring. Please allow approximately 4 to 6 weeks for completion. If you are among the first eight customers to order, please allow 6 to 8 weeks, as Andrew will also create a hand-painted A5 artwork of your ring to accompany it, with our compliments. If you are working to a particular date, please enquire before ordering.
Can a Cannelé Couleur ring be resized? +
Resizing is usually possible, although the suitable adjustment depends on the original finger size and the amount of change required. If the ring is a surprise or you are uncertain of the size, select 'I don't know' in the finger-size dropdown when ordering. We will then contact you to discuss the best starting size.
Can I view Cannelé Couleur in person? +
Cannelé Couleur is made to order, so completed examples are not currently held for viewing. We may be able to arrange a private consultation and, where appropriate, show an existing Cannelé Diamond ring to demonstrate the scale, proportions and signature fluted setting. This is arranged individually and subject to availability; finished pieces are not routinely sent out for speculative viewing. After ordering, images of suitable centre gemstone options can also be shared online before your stone is confirmed.
