As gold prices are at an all time high, The Jeweller Magazine asked me for my opinion and thoughts...
“It’s interesting that the price of gold surges as I’m falling more in love with it after finding a gold relic with my son! I don’t believe there’s one solution to the rising price – it’s very much dependent on each customer. Those with the budget, who feel it needs to be gold, will still invest. Lower carats or lighter weights will probably sway those with a limit.
I’m developing Treowth, a new collection inspired by the ancient find, and ensuring there are some lightweight options, without compromising style and beauty. Equally, some pieces will be unaffected by the gold price because they need the richness and weight that the design demands. I’m unsure what the future will hold for gold prices, but I predict most, if not all, will accept the new prices, at some point – it’s a matter of time for them to become the norm.”
