As an engagement ring designer with over 25 years I have a wealth of experience in this field and have seen and heard of horror stories with British and Worldwide makers. Inspiration came for this ring whilst I was sat in front of a huge open fire whilst holidaying in France. Glass of red wine in one hand and pencil in the other, France for some reason has super-charged my inspiration and has helped some of my most iconic pieces come to form. The Cannelé engagement ring is a true work of art. Its intricate design mimics the shape of the cannelé pastry – a delicious sweet treat synonymous with Bordeaux – with delicate flutings that create a mesmerizing visual effect at the rear of the setting. There is something abou a hexagon which really draws me in. I love the fact that it has such a different appeal when it is rotated point-to-point or side-to-side. Perhaps the fact that the shape appears so much in nature but also in design is another reason why I have fallen for it. The strength of and potential to create repeat patterns with the form set this shape apart and it has been gthe inspiration for many designers in many industries.

A most unique princess cut engagement ring exuding regal composure and lavish beauty! Empress is a hymn to the powerful femininity that flourished during the renaissance, bringing new riches to Europe, and fresh, exotic inspiration from the Far East. Inspired on the wild west coast of Portugal, the Empress sees a beautifully cut princess diamond or gemstone, reigning over all, positioned as if at the head of her dominion!
The strength of the design is very apparent in the images shown where we see squares and triangles making up this powerful ring. In each of the hand-cut triangles on the shoulders, the expert setter, under microscope, sets a diamond oh so skillfully with three grains. These triangles in a way create sparkling facets on the band giving the ring real structure and status!
